Active member of the Chapter and had served on the Board as Adiitional Director and Treasurer. Returned to the Board after a break and have served as Secretary in 2008 and 2009 and as President in 2010. I am a certified CISA and CGEIT. As the Secretary, I lead a major initiative to update our Chapter bylaws and see through the entire process through the Chapter Board, The ISACA HQ and the Chapter membership. Employed with Areej Vegetable Oils & Derivatives SAOG as Dy General Manager- Finance & IT. Other professional certifications include CA, CWA, CPA. CIA and PMP.

Why I want to serve the Board:

I have served as President for 2010 and would like to serve a second year to consolidate and build on initiatives taken during the past years. We want to start new initiatives which could possibly be pursued by future Boards. We are currently working towards holding a full day educational program to mark the completion of 10 years as a Chapter. This will be the first such event which would be totally managed by the Muscat Chapter, and could possibly become an annual feature. We held 15 educational programs, juggling schedules with holidays and vacations. During the past year, we have seen an increase in number of members attending our programs. We want to sustain and improve on this trend. Our new website also became operational recently. We need to obtain feedback from members and constantly improve. All this was possible due to the commitment, teamwork and harmony amongst the Board members In the next term, I would like to work on strengthening relationships with other professional bodies in Oman and in improving the awareness about the Chapter and its activities in the local community. Amongst other initiatives planned next year is formation of focus groups where Chapter members can volunteer and earn CPE hours.

Associated with M/s Oman Cement Company as System Analyst. As an active member of ISACA, i have served the chapter as Additional Director - Secretary[2008], CISA Coordinator[2009] & Secretary[2010]. I have got benefitted by this association by means of chapter programs and member contacts. Achieved good relationship with many of our chapter members.

Why I want to serve the Board:

To contribute as an Active Secretary to the Board and provide voluntary service to the Chapter Members.

During the last 2 years of my association with ISACA Muscat Chapter, i have been able to bring in Sponsorship at difficult times. I value my time spent with the Chapter and would like to contribute more to the Chapter, if elected.

CRV Ganesh, a subject matter expert in Information Security with over 25 years of global experience in Designing, Developing, Implementing and Auditing several Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). A CISA as well as CISM, has successfully delivered Information Security projects for both government and corporate bodies. With the expertise in IT Governance Framework (COBIT) and thorough techno-functional knowledge on various business verticals, Ganesh has delivered successful assignments such as defining Information Security Policies & Procedures, controlling and ensuring compliance to business as well as regulatory authorities. Has served as Director - CISM Certification for the year 2009 and helped the Chater by organising the CISM Review Classes at the company's premises as a matter of good-will gesture. With this position, will be able to reach-out to the CISM aspirants to provide them confidence in pursuing CISM and eventually progress in their career path.

Having associated with ISACA Muscat chapter at various capacities, my contributions for the effective functioning of the chapter activies were selfless and satisfying. Mohamed Moosa Ibrahim is a graduate from San Diego State University, USA (BSc- Information Systems and Design) with 20 years experience in IT, training and auditing. Have professional certifications such as: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). Have carried out duties of IT director, Training Director and Audit director at State Audit Institution and currently as an expert in State Audit Institution of Oman. Holding an executive director position in a IT solutions provider company Worked two years as a subject matter expert with an international organization based in Norway called IDI. Have developed, delivered and supervised training courses in IT, IT Audit and Need Assessment for Capacity Building in Oman, Qatar, India, Yemen, Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia. Have carried out IT audits in Oman, Qatar, Jordan and UAE.

I have organized seminars and training programs which I believe I could transfer my knowledge to the board and be effective in that position.

I am certified ITIL and OCP-DBA (Oracle Certified Professional - Database Administrator). I am working with Al Ansari Trading Enterprise LLC since December - 2003. Currently, working with them as "Senior Manager - IT". Before coming to Oman I was have worked in IT industry for 12 years in Dubai as Programmer, Analyst/Programmer, Systems Analyst and System Administrator. I have prgrammed in character and GUI based languages. With experience of around 18-19 years, the urge to learn more is not reducing & that is something that keeps me moving.

Why I want to serve the Board:

ISACA is the medium of networking which I was looking for IT networking in OMAN. I would also like to listen to the various queries which candidates ask, this gives chance to grow. I think questions can help ISACA Muscat Chapter to make necessary improvements/amendments. Last but, not the least, its an honor to serve ISACA Muscat Chapter with so many registered members from varied industries and companies, which helps to share knowledge.
